Our Core Values

Two months ago I was researching love. I wanted to know what others thought about love- how they receive it and perceive it. But more importantly I was curious of what it would look like if other loves (self, communal, platonic) were prioritized like romantic love. I never thought in researching love I would stumble across the core values for Care Doula.

In her book, “all about love”; scholar, feminist, and cultural critic bell hooks describes that cultivating a love ethic requires respect, knowledge, care, responsibility, affection, commitment, and trust. A love ethic should be infused in all aspects of our lives- self love, romantic love, platonic relationships, and communal relationships. And a love ethic is infused into Care Doula services, it is our core values:
